ShoreVest is a specialist in asset-backed private credit in China. We hire carefully, give people responsibility early and expect them to become very good at what they do.
How we work
Private credit takes more than investment analysis. It takes judgment, careful execution, asset management, legal and risk oversight, accurate reporting and lasting relationships with investors.
Every function is held to the same standard: work has to stand up to colleagues, investment committees and counterparties, and in the end to results.
The team is small enough that people work alongside senior colleagues from the start and see how their work fits the whole. Responsibility follows demonstrated judgment, not time served.
Teams
Responsibilities differ by team and level. Every role bears directly on the quality of the firm’s work.
Investment
Investment professionals identify and assess opportunities, analyze businesses and capital structures, conduct due diligence, and evaluate transaction and legal structures. They remain involved throughout the investment lifecycle, including portfolio monitoring, restructuring, recovery analysis, and the preparation of recommendations for the Investment Committee.
Capital Solutions
Capital Solutions forms part of the investment platform and develops and executes credit solutions involving borrowers, financial institutions, asset sellers, and other counterparties.
Asset Solutions
Asset Solutions teams monitor borrowers, assets, and collateral; support borrower engagement and workout processes; and coordinate with investment, legal, and external parties on restructuring, recovery, and enforcement.
Legal, Risk & Compliance
Legal, risk, and compliance teams review transaction structures and documentation, assess legal, regulatory, and investment risks, support due diligence and Investment Committee processes, and advise on governance and compliance matters.
Finance & Fund Operations
Finance and fund operations teams are responsible for the financial accuracy and operational reliability of the firm and its funds. Their work includes fund accounting, investor reporting, capital calls and distributions, audit, valuation, tax, and day-to-day financial operations.
Client Solutions
Client Solutions leads ShoreVest’s relationships with institutional investors across Asia-Pacific, the Americas, and EMEA. The team is responsible for fundraising, investor due diligence, communication, reporting, and ongoing institutional coverage.
Human Resources & Firm Operations
Human resources and firm operations teams build and support ShoreVest’s organization and maintain the infrastructure required for the firm to operate effectively. Their responsibilities include recruitment, compensation and benefits, performance management, training, workplace administration, and organizational planning.
What we value
Trust
Trust is the root of every strong relationship we build.
Counterparties need to trust that we understand the problem and will follow through. Within the firm, trust means people can rely on each other’s work instead of checking and rechecking it. Investors need to trust us with their capital and with the decisions we make on their behalf.
That trust takes time to grow. We earn it through sound judgment, consistent execution, and doing what we say we will do.
Time horizon
We sometimes describe ShoreVest as a hundred-year mom-and-pop shop.
We are not here to squeeze the most profit out of one deal or make one year look good. We care more about the health of the tree than the fruit from one season. That means protecting the firm’s reputation, relationships, and way of working, even when the payoff is not immediate.
We are building something that should still be growing long after the people who started it are gone.
Development
We want people to grow here.
That means giving them real responsibility before they have the title, and giving them the experience, guidance, and room to become genuinely good at what they do. Growth takes time, but it should never stop.
A strong firm should not have only one or two tall trees. It should keep producing people who can stand tall in their own right.

When opportunities arise, we look for strong students and early-career professionals with analytical ability, intellectual curiosity, and a genuine interest in how a private credit firm operates. Appointments are made selectively and against a high standard.
Experienced Professionals
We recruit experienced professionals selectively for established expertise, sound judgment, and a record of taking responsibility for substantive work. We look beyond title to the relevance, depth, and quality of what a candidate has done.
